A UD lens element positioned in the rear section of the lens provides excellent correction of the increased chromatic aberration generated by the magnification optics. This results in tack-sharp images with minimal color fringing in any shooting condition.

The extenders allow even more telephoto reach when it’s needed yet allow the user to convert back to an f/5.6 lens for low-light situations by simply removing the extender.
